One of the things we had both been looking forward to on our trip was our visit to Iguazu falls.
We decided to head out mid morning, our hotel did not include breakfast so we had that at a bakery in the center of town and then bought our bus ticket to get to the falls. There was a little bit of rain, but not too much.
On our way to the falls the rain started to bucket down, and we got off the bus lucky to have shelter whilst buying tickets.
We waited a bit hoping the rain might subside but it did not appear to be so we made our way through the gates with our brollies in hand, whilst other tourists wore rain ponchos!
We made our way to the train that takes you to the start of the trails, the rain seemed to be getting heavier as we took off about 25 mins later ( mother train schedule is bad!)
The train dropped us off near the central entrance to the upper and lower track, we decided on the high track for our first view of the falls.
You could hear the water rushing as we walked closer the the falls and then as if by magic, around a corner, there they are and despite the crazy heavy rain, they were amazing!!
We proceeded to walk the whole upper trail, getting damp in the process from the rain, our brollies barely holding the water off of us, I've never seen so much rain!!
After the upper trail we did the lower one, which I would say had better views but in the rain we struggled to get any great pics! I acted as Petes camera assistant holding his umbrella whilst he took pics!!
From the lower trail we headed back to the train and up to the trail out to the devils throat. It was around this time the rain finally subsided, allowing us to really enjoy the awesome spectacle of Iguazu falls!!! It truly is breath taking!
After being out at the devils throat we decided to call an end to the day and head back to get the bus.
We arrived back in town around 5:30, perfect timing to freshen up and head out for a few beers! It had started raining again, so the brollies came back out.
We found a nice restaurant for dinner and drinks, it was nice to be inside after a soggy day!
Tomorrow we head off to Brazil and are very excited as we will also go to Paraguay to visit! Should be fun!
