Argentina to Brazil......

Today was our last day in Argentina before crossing the boarder to head to Brazil.

We had to check out of our hotel by 10:30, but wanted to head to the 3 frontiers, a place by the river where you can see both Brazil and Paraguay from Argentina. We we checked out early and took a walk to see this awesome sight!

It is to be noted that yesterday it barely stopped raining and we had no blue sky for our visit to the falls, well today, it could not be more of a contrast! It was hot and sunny with blue skies! It did annoy us a little that yesterday was so crap, but hey, you can't pick the weather!

The view of the 3 frontiers was pretty cool, there is a monument there and it's a great spot for a photo. After our walk we headed back to town for some brekky and then back to the hotel to grab our bags so we could get the bus to Brazil.

I had noted that it seemed awfully quiet today and when we got to the bus station we soon found out why, it was a bus strike today and no buses were running! We had no option but to get a cab to drive us to Brazil!

Lucky it is not too far but still cost around $35, way more than the bus that was only going to cost $3.50!

Thankfully we are not poor backpackers like we were years ago, but it still hurt handing over the cash!!

The taxi drove us across the boarder stopping at the two checkpoints and then straight to our hotel, it took about 25mins all up, including boarder control time!

We were lucky to be able to check straight in and then we had a further boarder to cross, but this time we were being a little sneaky, we were crossing into Paraguay without a visa!!!!

We had heard this was possible but still my heart raced at the thought of it. Loads of Brazilians cross daily to go to Paraguay for duty free shopping. It is a relaxed boarder and no-one seems to bother getting their passports checked. So we decided to do the same, just so we could then say we have visited Paraguay!

We caught a local bus and sure enough straight through passport control we go, no stopping to be checked and then next thing
you know, you're in Paraguay!

We got off the bus and had a bit of a look around, it is crazy shopping, loads of people trying to sell you stuff. We decided after about 30 mins that we had experienced enough and decided to walk back over the bridge. Again, this was a little scary as we walked right past some guards, but they did not seem to care at all and next thing you knew we were back in Brazil!!

We caught a bus back to down town Foz de Iguacu and headed back to the hotel to freshen up before beers and dinner.

For dinner we went to an all you can eat buffet, omg, so much meat!! But it was pretty good and cheap at around $17 per person!

Overall we had an awesome day, very successful! 3 countries in one day, loads of excitement and fun!!!
