Farewell Rio, hello Buenos Aires!!!

Our flight from Rio was due to depart at 11:50am, we were a little unsure how much time we really needed to get to the airport as we had read so many varying reports, so we allowed ourselves plenty of time to get there.

We woke early and because it gets light so early we went out for a walk along the beach. I actually ended up taking a small run whilst Pete took photos.

Of course, after all the crap weather we have had, this morning Rio was amazing! Hardly any clouds and beautiful blue skies!

Pete decided to take a walk to the lagoon whilst I headed back to the apartment, I had walked in the sand so did not want to put my shoes back on and it was too far for me to walk in bare feet! Pete was alone in Rio!!! Omg! Thankfully he survived and managed to get some lovely pics of Christ the Redeemer surrounded by blue sky!! So typical!

We got an Uber to the airport, first time we've used Uber and we were really happy! Way cheaper than a taxi!

We checked in and were served by the loveliest check in clerk, Brazilian people have been amazingly friendly! After check in we grabbed coffee and a subway for lunch to eat before he flight.

Our flight boarded quite early with plenty of time to allow us to depart right on schedule. GOL airlines have proved to be very efficient.

Our flight was 3hrs 20 mins and went quite quickly, we landed in time in Buenos Aires.

From the airport we caught the bus, taxis were around $70, the bus was $40, it was really efficient and once we got to the bus station as part of the ticket they took us in a little shuttle straight to our hotel!

Our hotel is divine! Really good choice and we are really happy with our room. It is very comfortable! It also has the best shower of the trip so far! We both felt so fresh after our shower! Another nice surprise was some Easter eggs were in the room!! Yay!!

We headed out for dinner and drinks, staying close to the hotel as we will explore tomorrow. We found a quirky cafe/bar and enjoyed a few beers & a nice dinner, chicken Milanese (like a schnitzel) with veggies.

We are both looking forward to exploring Buenos Aires tomorrow, it seems like it will be a great city!!
