We had a bit of a restless sleep, but overall pretty good given the time difference of 14 hours.
I woke around 7:30 am and had decided to go for a run, so true to my word, I stuck with the plan. I headed out to run 5km, traffic was pretty heavy, so I cut laps of the park across the road. It was approx 700m per lap so I guess I did around 7 laps, not enough to become too bored.
After breakfast at the hotel we hit some of the sights of Santiago, including Santo Lucia fortress and the plaza del arms. We walked a fair bit of the old town and enjoyed the architecture & various sights. It's a pretty city but a layer of smog took away from the view of the Andes!
Around mid arvo we stopped for a pit stop for beers and enjoyed a bit of people watching in the process.
The day really got await from us!!
As it was Pete's birthday we headed out for a nice dinner, Pete has ravioli and I had gnocchi with tuna from Easter island, delicious!! Washed down of course with a couple of glasses of local wine!
We enjoyed our day in Santiago and tomorrow head off to the coast to enjoy Valparaiso!! Very excited!!

Happy Birthday Pete!
