Valparaiso - an outdoor gallery

We slept a little haphazardly in our bed and breakfast, it was warm and jet lag is still a bit of an issue. However the delightful breakfast we encountered soon overtook any feelings of frustration due to an interrupted sleep.

Our lovely host cooked up fresh muffins, served with fruit, homemade jam, coffee and juice, superb!

This set us up for our day ahead exploring the hills and marveling at the amazing artworks that fill the rustic streets and laneways!

Many photos were taken and we stopped along the way to sample a delicious iced chocolate and iced coffee, plenty of walking ensured we burned off those calories (hopefully)

We also ventured down to the newer part of the city which was bustling with people. VP is a hive of activity!!

Afternoon drinks again were enjoyed in the lovely rooftop bar and then we decided to dine in a small Chilean restaurant for dinner, steak for me and osso buco for Pete, and of course some local wine!

VP has been a delight, we have really enjoyed it and would recommend it as a place to visit for others who like a spot with a bit of an artistic flair!!

On Thursday we leave VP to head across the Andes to Mendoza in Argentina!!
